Patty Melts
Ingredients:
- About 1.5 pounds of ground beef. I prefer lean as possible because this is fatty enough.
- 1 white onion
- Italian salad dressing
- Wheat bread, or any bread, 8 slices.
- Mayo or 1000 island, 1000 island tastes better.
- 1 egg
- Cheese slices
- Bacon if you’re feeling saucy.
Instructions:
Step 1:
- Put beef in a bowl. Add salt/pepper/any seasoning you want to add to it.
- Add about 3 tablespoons of either the mayo or 1000 islands to the beef.
- Add an egg to the mixture.
- Preheat the oven to 425.
- Mix that hoe up. It will feel very gross but that is normal.
Step 2:
- Make into 4 patties even-sized, add to a baking sheet of your choice.
- Throw the pan and the patties into the oven until they are browned on both sides.
- Flip them halfway through unless you are an animal.
Step 3:
- You can do this while the patties cook. Cut/dice the onion into mid-size pieces and sauté them in a skillet.
- When thrown into the skillet cover them in the Italian dressing; this adds a metric ton of flavor.
Step 3.5:
- Microwave bacon if wanted.
Step 4:
- Butter 1 side of all 8 sides of the bread of your choice.
- Add the sautéed onions, cheese slices of choice, bacon if applicable, and now-cooked patties to make the sandwiches.
Step 5:
- Add sandwiches back to the oven and cook for 20 minutes on 425-400.
- Flip halfway through.
Step 6:
- Eat. But they are hot, so keep that in mind.
