Patty Melts

Ingredients:

  • About 1.5 pounds of ground beef. I prefer lean as possible because this is fatty enough.
  • 1 white onion
  • Italian salad dressing
  • Wheat bread, or any bread, 8 slices.
  • Mayo or 1000 island, 1000 island tastes better.
  • 1 egg
  • Cheese slices
  • Bacon if you’re feeling saucy.

Instructions:

Step 1:

  1. Put beef in a bowl. Add salt/pepper/any seasoning you want to add to it.
  2. Add about 3 tablespoons of either the mayo or 1000 islands to the beef.
  3. Add an egg to the mixture.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425.
  5. Mix that hoe up. It will feel very gross but that is normal.

Step 2:

  1. Make into 4 patties even-sized, add to a baking sheet of your choice.
  2. Throw the pan and the patties into the oven until they are browned on both sides.
  3. Flip them halfway through unless you are an animal.

Step 3:

  1. You can do this while the patties cook. Cut/dice the onion into mid-size pieces and sauté them in a skillet.
  2. When thrown into the skillet cover them in the Italian dressing; this adds a metric ton of flavor.

Step 3.5:

  1. Microwave bacon if wanted.

Step 4:

  1. Butter 1 side of all 8 sides of the bread of your choice.
  2. Add the sautéed onions, cheese slices of choice, bacon if applicable, and now-cooked patties to make the sandwiches.

Step 5:

  1. Add sandwiches back to the oven and cook for 20 minutes on 425-400.
  2. Flip halfway through.

Step 6:

  1. Eat. But they are hot, so keep that in mind.
